Our Eyes to Your Future
Alpine Thermal Imaging uses the most advanced Aerial Drones equipped with state of the art FLIR Thermal Imaging Cameras. Thermal Imaging or Thermography is the use of Thermographic Cameras equipped with Infrared Imaging Science. Infrared Science is electromagnetic radiation (EMR) consisting of longer wavelengths than those of visible light and is therefore invisible to the naked eye.
Thermal Cameras detect radiation and can produce images of that radiation called (Thermograms). Radiation is emitted by all living and non-living objects, thus allowing the science of Thermal Imaging which reveals hot and cool areas of an image, landscape or structure.
Thermography has historically been used by the Government and Military for surveillance and advanced medical technologies. As of recent, Firefighters and First Responders have been using Thermal Imaging to detect Hot and Cool spots in a structure or to see through heavy smoke and dust to locate humans or animals where a disaster may have occurred.
Alpine Thermal Imaging Drones take pictures and video at low altitudes and 90* angles for optimum image accuracy. Thermographic Roof Scanning allow us to detect temperature variances within the layers of most low slopping roofing systems, allowing one to reveal cool spots where moisture, leaks or pooling may be occurring. Hot and cool spots where faulty insulation, power lines or malfunctioning HVAC systems may be revealed as well.

Interesting facts about Infrared Technology:
Sir William Herschel, Astronomer and composer (1738-1822) of The Herschel Telescopes, constructed his first telescope in 1774. On February 11, 1800 Herschel was testing filters for the sun so he could observe sun spots. When using a red filter, he found there was a lot of heat produced. Herschel discovered infrared in sunlight by passing it through a prism and holding a thermometer just beyond the red end of the visible spectrum. This thermometer was meant to be a control to measure the ambient air temperature in the room. He was shocked when it showed a higher temperature than the visible spectrum. Further experimentation led to Herschel’s conclusion that there must be an invisible form of light beyond the visible spectrum. Infrared Radiation was discovered.
Among the many scientific and musical contributions to society, Herschel went on to discover the planet of Uranus in 1781, asteroids and the ice caps of Mars.
In addition to the multitude of museums, schools and observatories, there are craters and basins.
